RCL Tips and Tricks: Stone Care

forblogWhen it comes to appointing your home, natural stone is a lovely product to utilize in several different applications – and with simple care and mantenence, you can keep your investment in tip-top shape for many years.

RCL has several recommendations to help each homeowner utilizing stone keep up with care and stain removal to ensure the most beauty and limited upkeep.

+ Do use coasters and trivets/mats under glasses and hot dishes – especially with anything containing alcohol or citrus.

+ Do dust countertops, islands, floors frequently

+ Do use placemats under china, ceramics, silver or other potentially “scratchy” objects – don’t risk your stone surface being marred!

+ Do blot spills immediately to minimize any permanent damage to stone

+ Do clean surfaces by wiping with clean water or using professional Stone and Tile cleaner

+ Don’t use vinegar, bleach, amonia or other general purpose cleaners

+ Don’t use cleaners containing acid – like bathroom cleaners, grout cleaners or tub and tile cleaners

+ Don’t use abrasive cleaners such as soft cleaners
